Leading others to discover the jewels along their journey is a gift Tammi keeps on giving. As a wife, mother, consultant, preacher, writer, and scholar, she champions the emerging leader to embrace their story, overcome their worst, and persist in disturbing the status quo with necessary change that impacts the world.
Tammi is a native of Kansas City, Kansas, with entrepreneurial roots in two Black-owned statewide newspapers, The Kansas State Globe and The Missouri State Post. As a teenager working in the office, Tammi learned the significance of community and the power of the press while under the tutelage of her mother, a retired high school English teacher, and father, a businessman, the newspapers’ editor and publisher. Tammi learned with skill, typesetting, layout, photography, desktop publishing, securing advertisements, billing, interviewing, reporting, and journalistic writing. Tammi’s training helped lay a foundation for what would shape a journey strategized by God.
Tammi currently leads Journey of Jewels (journeyofjewels.org), an intentional work to help others uncover jewels along their journeys, using written and visual storytelling. Tammi is the founder and lead consultant of Love Consulting, a God-work dedicated to advocating change within faith-based organizations, transforming how and why they serve. Tammi is also the founder and strategic engagement leader at Mbele Leadership Foundation, an authentic community of extraordinary trailblazers committed to developing, empowering, and connecting emerging world changers in a changing world.
In May 2020, Tammi earned her doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Fontbonne University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in electronic journalism with a minor in marketing from Kansas State University.
Tammi continues to allow God to make room for her gifts, hallmarked in her more than 20 years of strategic guidance for non-profit and religious organizations. Her work has produced effective initiatives for church growth, motivated successful re-branding campaigns, and enhanced communication systems.
Tammi has the heart to serve God and God’s people. Her life is a testament to walking with God, publicly accepting the call to preach in January 2018. She has surrendered to an all-in commitment to God, sharing a bold message that our journeys matter in sharing the good news of His love and miraculous power.
Tammi humbly works alongside her husband, Reverend Jawwad J. Love. Their ministry has led them to serve churches in Missouri, Illinois, Georgia, South Carolina, California, and Ohio, providing opportunities for Tammi to work diligently in the local Christian Education, Media, Music, and Missionary Departments. Tammi is a consecrated Deaconess. She is also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
Tammi is committed to her first ministry, her family, married to Jawwad for 25 years. They are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Alexandria and Elisha.
Tammi’s vision cry rests in scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
