I love to see God in His magnificent works! A recent road trip to Tennessee allowed me to be mesmerized, once again, by the works of His mighty hand and incredible power.  Our drive along steep, winding roads kept me alert and wide-eyed as my husband mastered every turn with caution and ease.  Although scary at times, it didn’t stop me from taking pictures of every mountainous landscape that made my heart take a deep breath. To be honest, that’s exactly what I needed. And I didn’t realize I needed it until the moment I actually felt my heart breath, very deeply. God tends to have that affect on me. With that breath came a release and a strong sense of protection…all around me. In the midst of those Tennessee mountains I felt the hand of God holding me, holding my family, protecting our every movement.  And suddenly He spoke and I listened.  One of the things He spoke was a reminder, summed up in a song beautifully recorded in Psalm 121,

“I look up to the mountains;
does my strength come from mountains?
No, my strength comes from God,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.
He won’t let you stumble,
your Guardian God won’t fall asleep.
Not on your life! Israel’s
Guardian will never doze or sleep.
God’s your Guardian,
right at your side to protect you—
Shielding you from sunstroke,
sheltering you from moonstroke.
God guards you from every evil,
he guards your very life.
He guards you when you leave and when you return,
he guards you now, he guards you always.” (The Message Bible)

Ain’t no mountain high enough that God can’t get to you to remind you that He’s looking out for you, that He’s protecting you. Your mountain may not be a big hill with trees on it. Your mountain may be a person, a situation or even a place. Nothing and no one is bigger than God. He is still able to find you in mountainous regions. God is Creator of  the mountains, in all of their majesty, yet He is even greater and more majestic than His creations. He is God and He is our strength!

I pray God will speak a sudden word in your life that will bring you pause, allowing your heart to take a deep breath, that you may hear God in a fresh and powerful way.  You’ve been longing for a release for quite some time. You’ll find it in God. What a sweet communion! You can do this!
